THE DISABILITY BENEFITS JOURNEY

We Bridge the Gap

Through our work with tens of thousands of Americans each year, we see the common challenges they face. Many clients find us because they’re frustrated, overwhelmed or defeated. We see the same questions asked in a variety of ways:

  • “Does my VSO/attorney have the resources, training and expertise needed for medical evidence development?”
  • “How can I be sure that the officials deciding my claim are getting my authentic and complete medical story?”

We know how hard it can be to properly document medical conditions and disabilities for a claim. And we know how to help.
If you’ve faced any of the challenges above, what you need is a robust medical evidence packet detailing your case.

We Build Medical Evidence

WE DEVELOP MEDICAL EVIDENCE PACKETS THAT HELP DECISION MAKERS UNDERSTAND THE CAUSE OF YOUR DISABILITIES AND HOW IT IMPACTS YOUR LIFE INTO THE FUTURE.

Whether you’re just starting your application or involved in the appeals process, you have a right to bring medical evidence to your claim. Our licensed medical experts can help with medical evidence to:

  • Capture your complete medical picture (including diagnoses, symptoms, impairment levels and root cause).
  • Tell the most accurate version of your disability story to share with the decision makers that matter.
  • Avoid common medical evidence errors that lead to underrated or denied claims.

WE DO THIS BY:

Collecting

all of your medical symptoms

Mapping

those symptoms to potential disabilities

Conducting

a root cause analysis to determine causal or aggravation factors

Determining

the specific impairment
 rating/level for each disability

Identifying

the initial disability onset date

Why Us?

MEDICAL EVIDENCE IS A CRUCIAL PART OF THE BENEFITS JOURNEY.
AND IT'S TOO OFTEN OVERLOOKED.

At Trajector, we like to think of claims for disability benefits as a puzzle that needs to be solved. Once complete, it shows the full picture of your disability. Decision makers need to get that complete picture before you can receive the full benefits that you qualify for.

This is where medical evidence comes in. Your medical conditions and the impacts of disabilities on your daily life may be perfectly clear to you. (It’s your life, after all!) But to the decision makers of your claim, they’re still pieces of an incomplete puzzle.

As you put this “puzzle” together, you may get help. Veterans Service Organizations, accredited attorneys, and your family, friends and colleagues may all play a supporting role. But without detailed medical evidence, a major piece is missing, and the officials deciding your case likely won’t be getting the complete picture.

Wherever you are in this process, remember: It is your right to bring private medical evidence to a disability claim. It Is your right to receive the most accurate decision or disability rating and the benefits that belong to you.

Your Right to Medical Evidence

As an American seeking disability benefits — from the VA or from another source — it’s your right to use private medical evidence to support your claim. In fact, Congress guaranteed this right for veterans, recognizing how difficult the process of medical evidence development can be. Now that the Veteran’s Assistance Act of 2000 is law, the VA is required to accept ALL medical evidence, not just evidence from its own providers.

Congress and the federal government have long recognized that medical evidence development is separate and distinct from legal advocacy (i.e. attorney representation) and has passed several laws highlighting the importance of private medical evidence, like the packets developed by Trajector, in support of VA claims.

How It Works

If you have multiple symptoms, there’s a chance they’re connected.

Maybe you blew out your knee on the job or during military service. If this has resulted in not being able to exercise, it’s possible that not being able to exercise has itself led to weight gain that, in turn, has led to hypertension. Now, instead of one symptom, you have three symptoms that are potentially connected – and therefore potentially caused by an injury at your job or while in the service.

With the right documentation, you can prove out cases like this. This is where Trajector Medical comes in. We not only identify your symptoms, we also map their causes and provide a clear, research-backed report of these symptoms and their connections. We point to studies and research linking ailments that might otherwise be overlooked or underdiagnosed — showing how your medical history aligns with the research.

With the report in hand, you can then decide which benefits you want to claim regarding your case, sending in your application or appeal with more confidence in the medical side of your case.
